History of the Department
The Department of Computer Applications was started in the academic year 1995 - 1996 which is AICTE approved programme and also the department offers PGDCA programme. The sanctioned strength for MCA programme is 30. The backbone of the department is a team of well qualified, experienced and committed faculty members who contribute to the development of the academic expertise and interpersonal skills of the students. The department is equipped with spacious class rooms, conference hall with LCD projector, Computer Lab and Language Lab with internet connectivity and a well established library with 2500 text and reference books, 4500 E-books and 17 journals.
The Department of Computer Applications also offers a University Affiliated Post Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Applications.

Students of the department have been placed in reputed IT companies such as Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Stradegi Solutions, Techvolt Software Private Limited, Zencrop Techno Solutions, Vertical Solutions, and Super Botics Multi Tech Private Limited.

National IT Professionals Day is celebrated annually on the third Tuesday of September to recognize and appreciate the contributions of technicians, network engineers, and system administrators who maintain critical IT infrastructure.

Swachh Bharat Day is observed every year on October 2 to promote cleanliness and hygiene by organizing various departmental and interdepartmental activities.

The department is equipped with a state-of-the-art computer laboratory with high-speed internet connectivity and the latest software tools to support effective teaching and learning.

Workshops and guest lectures are regularly organized to expose students to current technological trends, industry practices, and emerging IT domains.

Association activities such as seminars on recent technologies, quizzes on current affairs, and technical competitions are regularly conducted for students.

The department magazine “TechMag” is published every year to showcase students’ technical articles, creative ideas, and departmental activities.
