Grievance Redressal Cell


Functions
       The Grievance Redressal Cell is highly active in the campus monitoring the redressal of students’ grievances through Statutory and Non Statutory Regulatory Bodies viz. Internal Complaints Cell, Anti Ragging Cell, Anti-Drug Club, and SC / ST Cell and Student Welfare Committee. Students drop their grievances in the Grievance Box / Suggestion Box located at different places inside the campus. Students can also lodge their grievances using the provision given in the college website through student corner. They also voice forth their grievances to the faculty-in-charge of the regulatory bodies and get their problems alleviated.
       The Grievance Redressal Cell channelizes the grievances to the concerned Committee for the timely redressal. The minor issues are sorted out by the members of the respective Committees. Issues that need serious concern are brought to discussion in the Grievance Redressal Committee Meetings and appropriately resolved. The grievances are addressed at the earliest from 2 to 15 days depending on its nature.

Objectives
  • To ensure a conflict-free atmosphere promoting a conducive and harmonious educational environment for the students
  • To remain open ended in receiving grievances from the students
  • To devise channels that allow the students to register their grievances
  • To adopt a mechanism to handle the reported grievances
  • To forward the unresolved issues to Higher Authorities for further action

Internal Complaints Cell


       Internal Complaints Cell paves way for the effective enforcement of basic human rights and assures an environment free of harassment and abuses enabling all the members of the Institution to experience congenial working and learning atmosphere. The Committee scrutinizes the complaints represented by the students periodically and addresses them duly for rectification. Appropriate Disciplinary action will be taken whoever involves in such practices according to the rules and regulations of the Institution.

Functions of Internal Complaints Cell
  • To sort out the received complaints from Students and resolve it at the earliest by the Committee.
  • To forward the unresolved issues to the Higher Authorities for further action.
  • To assure a secure educational ambience for the students.

Mechanism of Internal Complaints Cell
       Students can lodge their complaints which are against the Institutional code of contact, norms and practices of the Institution. All abuses or violations against human being of any form both in oral and written may be addressed to any of the member of the Internal Complaints Cell or to the Class Teachers. Students can also drop anonymous letter of complaint in the complaint boxes placed inside the campus. This Committee resolves the issue at the earliest from 2 days to 15 days depending on the nature of the complaints.

Anti-Ragging Cell


       The University Grants Commission emphasizes the Higher Education Institutions to ban Ragging inside the College Campus. Anti-Ragging Cell of V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, Virudhunagar sensitizes the students periodically against Ragging through various Awareness Programmes and Activities to make the Campus Ragging Free and provide conducive learning atmosphere. This Committee makes the students submit online Anti-Ragging Affidavit with the consent of their parents. It also takes care of printing the details of Toll Free Number and the Anti-Ragging website at the backside of the Students’ Identity Card. Anti-Ragging Squad comprising of three Senior Faculty of the Institution is vigilant at all hours and submit recommendations to the Committee whenever needed.

Functions of Anti-Ragging Cell
  • To make the students submit an Anti-Ragging Affidavit duly endorsed by the parent/guardian at the time of admission.
  • To create awareness among the students that Ragging is a crime.
  • To ensure the display of posters on Anti-Ragging at the Institution, Department Notice Boards and other prominent common places.
  • To be vigilant at all hours all around the campus to avoid incidents of ragging.
  • To make surprise raids on hostels, and classrooms to prevent ragging.
  • To conduct an on-the-spot enquiry into any incident of ragging referred to by the faculty or student or parent or guardian.

Punishment for indulging Ragging
       If any student is found of attempting or committing in the practice of Ragging due punishment is given by the authorities like Suspension, Cancellation of Admission, Expulsion from the Hostel, Levying Fine, Exemption from the Summative and Repeat of the Semesters relating to their degree of offence.

Anti-Drug Club


       Anti-Drug Club of V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, Virudhunagar aims to create an awareness about the ill effects of drug usage among the younger generation. The club strives to ban on the possession and consumption of drugs and alcohol. It also educates the students against drug abuse, drug addiction, alcohol addiction and its ill effects. The Club organizes various awareness programmes, conducts competitions, and make students take pledge. Anti- Drug Club adopts the precautionary measures for the prohibition of drug abuse in the college.
