SRUSHTI

Objectives
  • To design informative content on events like seminar, competitions and services.
  • To create visually appealing designs that convey appropriate messages or information.
  • To promote events and services with branding, typography, layout, and overall principles of design composition.

Functions
         This campus company was formed with an aim of creating in-house designs for various events organised by various departments in the college. To create designs, the students, who have a bent of mind, were selected and trained about the specific event. Sample designs were prepared by the students and an effective design will be finalized. The students will be duly remunerated for their designing services. Interested students will form a committee and take responsibilities for sourcing, discussing, designing and assessing the effectiveness of the designs.
        Each student will assume different managerial positions and the responsibilities of managerial positions are clearly specified. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will monitor the overall performance of the campus company. Finance Manager will maintain accounts for the designing services. Research & Development (R&D) Manager will discuss the concept of the design according to the requirement. Human Resource (HR) Manager will allocate the designing work to respective members. Design Maintenance Manager will maintain the original designs in proper format and help retrieve the same, when required.

History
        Srushti was started in March 2018 by Department of Business Administration to cater to the designing requirements for various events organised by our institution. A team of students who have basic designing skills were selected and they were trained in designing brochures, flyers, journal cover page, magazine cover page, invitations, certificates etc. This team was mentored by Entrepreneurship and Talent Development Cell Coordinator, who was a part of the Department of Business Administration. When a designing order came, the mentor would allocate the project to one of the team members and she would be guided unitl completion. Based on the efforts demanded for the design, the student involved in that will be remunerated for her services.
        The first order was for designing certificates. This was done by an MCA student who was a part of Srushti Team. From 2018, this campus company has prepared and delivered over 50 designs for various events organised by the institution.
        Later, this campus company was handed over Department of Information Technology and they continued it for one year. Now, this is handled by Department of Computer Applications.

Suvai

OBJECTIVES
  • To prepare attractive range of tasty, quality and affordable food products.
  • To sell the food products in 'Young Minds' and 'Vyapar' stalls.
  • To develop entrepreneurial skills and to promote self-employment.

FUNCTIONS
        Suvai, a campus company, was established in 2012 to market packed foodstuffs made by students themselves.The recipes are properly planned out and the ingredients are carefully chosen to produce the culinary products.
        A group of students work together to plan the items, prepare them, market and sell and maintain stock. The members divide the work among themselves according to their skill and will. As the items are sourced and made by the students, the cost of the goods is at minimal and hence, the prices are kept at a minimal.
        Three group are formed (based on the strength of the class) to generate ideas for food products that can be made and sold in stalls. Each group acts like a company. One student is appointed as a CEO and in other managerial positions. By playing different roles, the students will be able to develop a variety of entrepreneurial skills, such as planning, leading, decision-making, guiding, and problem-solving. All of these things can be applied by students to their real-world careers as successful entrepreneurs.
To sum up,
  • Prepare Suvai food products for Young Minds and Vyapar stalls.
  • Plan about selection of food products, purchase ingredients, prepare food items, pack them appropriately, sell and maintain accounts.
  • Review the sales of Suvai products for further development of Suvai products in the subsequent stalls.

HISTORY
        Suvai, a Campus Company was started in the second year of starting Entrepreneurship & Talent Development Cell in 2013-14. The purpose was to offer practical knowledge to the students of MBA about the entrepreneurial and managerial theory and concepts.
        The students are making available a variety of products for sale in Young Minds, stall. Among them, one such variety is Suvai (Tempt to Taste) Food Products. The food products target the audience in the college, i.e. the students and staff members. Hence, students select one or two food products to be displayed in the stall, buy the ingredients, prepare them in a hygienic manner, pack them appropriately and sell them in stalls at affordable prices. The idea of this effort is to understand the target market and introduce products to suit the requirements of the market.

Young Minds

OBJECTIVES
  • To organise trade stalls and sell products in the college premises.
  • To inculcate entrepreneurial culture among the students and create a passion for self-employment.
  • To develop entrepreneurial & intrapreneurial traits like creativity, leadership, decision making, analytical skills, etc. among students to be a successful entrepreneur.
  • To learn by practice the roles of managerial personnel by assuming different managerial positions in organising stall activities.

FUNCTIONS
        Young Minds, a campus company, was established in 2013 that provides the platform to the students in practicing and experiencing entrepreneurship.
        The students create a team, discuss about the procuring products, how they will be displayed, the marketing tactics that will be used, the product’s price, sales and accounts maintenance. These activities instill in the students the best entrepreneurial practices and culture. The junior students take over the business from the seniors to continue in their successful footsteps after the senior students' glorious completion as shareholders.
To sum up,
  • Setting up stalls and selling products that are of appeal to students, teaching and nonteaching staff in college.
  • Selecting products for sale, procurement of raw materials, preparing products, marketing them and handling accounts for all the activities.
  • Review the stall activities for further improvement in subsequent stalls.

HISTORY
        Young Minds, a Campus Company was started in the second year of starting Entrepreneurship & Talent Development Cell in 2013-14. The purpose was to offer practical knowledge to the students of MBA about the entrepreneurial and managerial theory and concepts.
        The students, as a part of the Campus Company initiative, will organise themselves into groups (as in companies) and assume different managerial positions and perform related managerial activities. The stalls display products that will target the audience in the college, i.e. the students and staff members. Affordable to premium products will be available for sale in the stall. Every year, II MBA students will organise stalls in the odd semester and hand over the same to their juniors (I MBA) in the even semester. In this way, each batch of MBA students will get the opportunity to organise stall activities for 2 semesters. Each student will invest Rs.100 and produce / buy products and sell them. The products that appeal to the students and staffs will be avaialble for sale. The aim is to make students learn managerial and entrepreneurial skills.
        Apart from this, the studetns also organised a mega-trade fair called VYAPAR for two days once evey year. For this event, they will invest Rs.1000 each and source and make products. Best Stalls will be selected after evaluation by external judges on parameters innovation, concept, display, variety of products, coordination and presentation and awarded as BEST VYAPARI - Winner and Runner-up.
        Since its inception, the company has gradually increased in terms of variety and quantity of product offerings in the stall. The products will range from snacks and other eatables, cosmetics, fashion accessories, dress materials, household items, toys, stationeries, etc. The products will also cover artistic and aesthetic home-decor collections.

FUNCTIONS
        Virutcham as a campus company plays an important role in enhancing the student entrepreneurial skills. Virutcham provides an opportunity for the students to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills they have acquired in campus to real world situations. Virutcham provides a platform to convert their novel ideas in to commercial food products. They develop new recipes that cater to the specific needs and preferences of their target groups. They also engage in research and development activities to identify and incorporate new ingredients with high nutritional value into their products. These activities help them to improve their marketing strategy also. Virutcham Company runs with the joint efforts of UG and PG students. Students take up various roles such as CEO, Financial manager, Production manager, Purchasing manager, Marketing manager, Sales manager, RND, HRM and Stock maintenance manager which help them to fine-tune their skills in various aspects. These acquired skills help them to become successful entrepreneurs.

HISTORY
        The Department of Home Science ventured into a new era of student startup "Virutcham" since 2019. Mrs. Kavitha.Senthil Kumar, Industrialist and Exporters, KDS Coir Farm, Vadipatti, Madurai, who was the alumnae of the department of Home Science, inaugurated the startup Virutcham Company. She motivated the students to start small company of their own. She encouraged the students to build up leadership, innovation and creation to run the company. This startup has been functioning successfully as a campus company to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, with entrepreneurial spirit resulting in the development of a plethora of unique and impactful nutritious products. This significant journey induces the student's creativity, perseverance and deep commitment to make them entrepreneurs in future.

HISTORY
        The Campus Company Techie Tree Solutions was started by the Department of Computer Science (Aided) with an objective of developing customized software solutions to the institution and making the students industry-ready. It has its inception in academic year 2019-2020. Under the dynamic leadership & guidance of Dr. G. Kathigai Lakshmi, faculty members Mrs. P. Aruna Devi and Mrs. T. Chitra of Computer Science (SF) Department initiated the software development. Twenty One students from UG and PG Computer Science were selected. They were given training in the Open Source Software PHP for 2 Weeks. Later they developed software for Hostel management. Software was also developed for Question Paper Setter selection, and Analysis of Student feedback on Faculty and Institution. In the academic year 2020-2021, they updated the software for Analysis of Student feedback on Faculty and Institution. They also updated the software for UG NME selection and developed the software for PG NME selection. For the academic year 2021-2022, sixteen students from MCA, UG and PG Computer Science were selected. They updated the software for Question Paper Setter selection. Some of our company members attended courses on Android Application Development and Web Development which were organized by Computer Science (SF) under the MoU signed with DCE Technology, Virudhunagar. For the academic year 2022-2023, seventeen students from MCA, UG and PG Computer Science were selected. They developed software for Outcome attainment calculation for outcome based education. Some of our company members attended courses on Android Application Development and Web Development which were organized by Computer Science (SF) under the MoU signed with DCE Technology, Virudhunagar. From working for this company, members were able to enhance their Communication skills, technical knowledge and team management skills. They felt as if they were working in real IT sector.

Genesis
        The Department of Costume Design and Fashion is keen on generating employment opportunities of students by up skilling their entrepreneurial abilities. It takes ventures to transform them from job-seekers to entrepreneurs by exploring ample sources of knowledge technology, and support facilities. The start-up is an initiative that strengthens the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. It endeavours to inspire the student community to emerge as successful student--entrepreneurs. The Department takes efforts to hone students' skills, render support and monitor their performance. One of the greatest initiatives of the Department is establishing collaboration with the best organizations in Garment Industry for giving firsthand experience with machines and tools in production and marketing as Interns. This industrial training on Garment Production and Boutique Management facilitates the students to bring out their innate talents, innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills through establishing a startup company.
        The Department of Costume Design and Fashion launched a startup Trendy Turn - Giving Joy of Creativity in 2019. This startup aims to provide hands-on learning opportunities for aspiring student entrepreneurs. It facilitates them to express their creativity and showcase their artistic skills. Students are trained to prepare a diverse range of home furnishing products, costumes and accessories. They are able to experiment with different materials, designs, and styles to create unique and eye-catching products. This creative outlet cultivates entrepreneurial traits and allows students to explore their passion for design and aesthetics. They learn to overcome challenges, adapt to changing circumstances, and believe in their abilities to achieve success in future. FUNCTIONS
         COME-AUR-CUT COMPOS as a campus company plays an important role in enhancing the student entrepreneurial skills. This company provides an opportunity for the students to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills they have acquired in campus to real world situations. This start-up provides a platform to convert their novel ideas in to commercial Agricultural products. Start-up students prepare organic compost packs to mete out the needs of the farmers . They also create awareness on usage of compost through playing Dramas and displaying models to the farmers of nearby village as a apart of extension activity. This Company runs with the efforts of UG final year students. Students take up various roles such as CEO, Financial manager, Production manager, Purchasing manager, Marketing manager, Sales manager, and Stock maintenance manager which help them to fine-tune their skills in various aspects. These acquired skills help them to become successful entrepreneurs.

         The Department of Microbiology ventured into a new era of student startup "COME-AUR-CUT COMPOS" since 2022. Under Silver Jubilee celebrations of our department, We conducted a Entrepreneurial skill development programme on 29.08.2022 which was inaugurated by Dr.J.Binu Jacob ,Founder & CEO of Kapikapa International Farms & Polymers, Andhra pradesh. He motivated the students to start small company of their own. He encouraged the students to build up leadership, innovation and creation to run the company. Under the guidance of ELLIS BIOTECH, Erode , we started the Campus compost company. This startup has been functioning successfully as a campus company to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, with entrepreneurial spirit resulting in the development of a plethora of unique and impactful Agricultural products. This significant journey induces the student's creativity, perseverance and deep commitment to make them entrepreneurs in future.

The campus company provides the opportunity for the aspiring student to become entrepreneurs. The campus company enhances the ideas of product development and marketing skill. Students are trained with the knowledge of preparing the washing and detergent items. This creative outlet cultivates entrepreneurial traits and allows students to explore their passion for self-employability skill. They learn to overcome challenges, adapt to changing circumstances, and believe in their abilities to achieve success in future.
